A huge thank you to everyone who contributed time and money to make the project happen. We are blessed to partner with each of you to follow the vision that God has given Mosaic - to follow Jesus in authentic community for the world!
We'll be having an OPEN HOUSE after each gathering this Sunday, August 9. Walk across 39th and up the stairs by Baskin Robbins to tour the new Mosaic office space.

Moving Over
We're moving over!

Last week the staff had a semi-official ribbon cutting ceremony, with Tim awarding Doug Holcomb a (very serious) Move Over award of excellence for his project management.

The staff and many volunteers spent a few days moving most of the offices across the street. There's still a bit of finishing work to do, but we have a functional bathroom and kitchen!

There's still a bit of cleaning out to do...

But certain people in the children's department are managing to be productive in the midst of chaos.

We look forward to getting things wrapped up over the next month and having some sort of "office warming" party. Stay tuned.
Already, plans are in motion to utilize the vacated space at the church for more kids classrooms, meeting rooms and a welcome area! Thanks to all of you have donated time, labor and prayer to keep moving the vision of Mosaic forward. None of this would happen without you.

Wednesday: morning, afternoon
Thursday: morning, afternoon
To sign up, email Doug: dholcomb@mosaicportland.org. Thanks for moving the vision of Mosaic forward.

We have doors!

The break room, complete with a refrigerator.

Colors and Cubes, Part 2
Progress at the new offices is now fast and obvious. From the top of the rickety stairs, you can see the freshly painted deck and the caution tape flapping in the gentle spring breeze.

The main room is now home to a fully assembled cube farm.

This is the future (and apparently current) staff breakroom.

This will be lead pastor Tim Osborn's office.

And this will be lead pastor Tim Osborn's sweet view. (Yes, that is the roof of My Cahn. And yes, that is the Hollywood Budweiser sign in the distance. He's been told not to climb out the window and walk around out there, but sometimes you can't be accountable for what you do on a sunny day in Portland.)

Single office carpet meets main room carpet. We think they'll get along ok.

If you really want perspective on the progress, check out this old post about the space before we started renovation.

Colors and Cubes
Last Wednesday, volunteers hauled two truckloads of used cubicles from Beaverton to the new office space.
Everything had to come up this flight of rickety stairs. Not an easy task.

This chair didn't make the cut.
Doug Holcomb (Mosaic's resident wheeler dealer) negotiated a bunch of free filing cabinets with the cubicles. The staff was thrilled; the volunteers less so. Notice the blue and green walls in the background. Very nice.

This is evidence of all their hard work, worthy of lunch at My Cahn downstairs:
And finally, our happy and useful (and patriotic) ladder:

Paint changes things too

This is Isaac, as in "Isaac needs an office". He's maybe the most excited of anyone about all the progress. Though he hasn't been told yet that he'll be in a cubicle.
