Cleaning House

Throughout the demolition stages, Mike Reynolds (our general contractor) has worked hard to recycle as much of the material as possible. What was left has got to go. On Saturday we rented a large dropbox to clean house. Six happy volunteers came at 7am and spent an hour and a half throwing unusable ceiling tiles, sheet rock and insulation off of the second story deck into the dropbox below.
Here's a little story to brag on our volunteers... A guy who had responded to a craigslist posting came to pick up scrap metal. On his way out, he mentioned to Mike that he had never been treated so kindly. He said that, as the 'scrap guy', no one usually pays much attention to him, but everyone there had been friendly and helpful. Just one more way you are loving Jesus in authentic community for the world.

The space is looking better and better each day. The next steps are finalizing the layout and beginning to install the bathrooms. If you'd like to volunteer, contact Mike: 503.318.3302.
For now, we'll leave you with a recent quote from Michael Scott:
"Nobody should have to go to work thinking, oh this is the place that I might die today. That's what a hospital is for. An office is for not dying. An office is a place to... live life to the fullest. To the max... An office is a place where dreams come true."
